杨健在重庆的艺术项目源于一次偶然事件:他在刚下飞机时将自己的行李箱丢在了出租车上,在随后的几天里,他去到警察局,交通广播电台,试图通过广播以及城市监控录像来找回自己的行李,最终一无所获。在艺术家来到重庆之前,他就一直对一些出现在网络上的公共事件及记录这些公共事件的视频抱有兴趣,这些视频通常来自当事人的偷拍,在事件发生后被相关人员发布在网上。在中国,可以成为公共事件的事情通常来自维权,食品安全等领域,这是一些有着明显的权力和利益交换的领域。被侵害者往往无法通过正常的舆论及法律手段进行维权,最后只能被动的将相关的资料发布在网络,以期形成公众的关注,最后在网络舆论的监督下对个人利益进行最后的争取。
艺术家创作围绕这样一个基本框架在进行展开,比如说将女性用自慰器和公共事件视频的声音链接在一起,并且通过视频的声音来控制自慰器震动的频率;比如说通过网络购买了一批监控用监视器,将其组装成一个球体状,改监视器为只有动作扑捉功能而没有实际的视频录制功能的假监视器,也被大量而广泛的应用在了社会的公共环境中,起着所谓的震慑作用。另外,视频中旋转木马和街头的警察工作平台的叠加,都是隐晦的调侃着这些出现在公众面前的社会监察系统。
这些都是艺术家作品所涉及的问题,但是这也只是其中的一个层面的问题,因为在艺术家看来,艺术家的任务不仅仅在于揭示那些存在于社会逻辑之中的隐蔽关系,对于艺术语言以及艺术内部逻辑的思考,同样是其现阶段思考的重要问题,所以艺术家在创作其作品时,刻意的弱化作品的社会所指,以此来试图将观众的视角带到艺术语言的反思中,这在中国当前的,艺术强调对于外部现实的回应的潮流中,是非常重要的立场和态度。

Yang Jian’s art project in Chongqing is due to a casual accident: after he alight from the plane ,he forgot his luggage in the taxi. In the next few days, he went to the police station, traffic radio station, and tried to broadcast and urban surveillance video to find his luggage. Finally he got nothing. Before the artist came to Chongqing, he has been always interested in some public events on the internet and videos which are recording these public events. These videos are usually photographed from relevant person’s candid camera and then published on the internet. In China, things which can become public events usually come from rights, food security and other fields. It has some obvious areas of exchange of power and interests. Victim often can not protect their rights by normal means of public opinion or legal rights. Finally, what they only could do is put the related information on the internet passively. In order to call for the public’s concern and fight for the final personal interests under the supervision of public opinion.
Artist’s creation is around the basic framework for conducting such a start. For example, he combined a female masturbation with the sound of a public events and control the vibration frequency of masturbation by the voice of the video; or another example: bought a number of monitoring through the network, assembled them into a sphere-like, changed the monitors to capture the action that lost the function of actual video recording which is abundant and widely used in the community’s public environment and plays a so-called deterrent. In addition, the video combining carousel and street police station is veiled ridicule of those in the public eye for social monitoring system.
These issues are all the artist’s work involved, but just one dimension of it. Because in the artist’s view, his work is not only to reveal the relations hidden in the logic of society, but also think about the internal logic of artistic language is necessary issue to the present stage. So when the artist create his works, he deliberately weaken the social meanings, in order to bring the perspectives of the audiences to reflect the language of art. It is very important position and attitude in current China where art stressed in the response to the trend of external reality.
